Trace Intel.
We build the platform forces own.
Trace Intel builds Trace Vantage, the force-owned investigation operating system. We exist because investigative software has, for the most part, been sold as rented access to someone else's cloud. We build it the other way: installed inside the force environment, governed by design, and owned by the force for life.
Investigations are getting harder to run and harder to defend, often on tools that make both worse.
Case material is fragmented across systems that don't talk to each other. Provenance is reconstructed under pressure instead of carried forward from the start. And a growing share of investigative software runs on infrastructure the force doesn't control, with AI use nobody can fully account for. Trace Vantage was built to close that gap: one governed environment, installed where the force decides, with a clear record of who did what, on what authority, and why.
Why we sell a licence, not a subscription to our cloud.
A force that depends on a vendor's cloud to run its investigations has handed over a decision it shouldn't have to make twice: where its data lives, and what happens if that vendor's priorities change. We build Trace Vantage to be installed inside the force environment and licensed perpetually, so the operational relationship is support and improvement, not custody of the force's data.
Sovereign
The force owns the platform and controls all data. No vendor access to operational material as a matter of routine.
Governed
Provenance, audit, disclosure and decision gates are built in, not bolted on after the fact.
Accountable
Every capability is designed for the questions that follow an investigation, operational and legal.
Forces will build more of their own software. We think that's right.
AI and low-code tools are making it realistic for a force to build its own workflows, dashboards and specialist applications, faster than a traditional procurement cycle allows. We don't see that as a threat to a software vendor's business, we built Vantage Builder because we think it's the right direction, and because those builds need a governed foundation under them or they become the next generation of ungoverned data silos.
We'd rather be the governed foundation than the thing forces build around.
That's the reasoning behind Vantage Builder: give forces a platform they can extend safely, instead of a closed product they have to work around.
AI should be useful, optional and accountable.
We build AI into Trace Vantage because it genuinely speeds up analytical work. We also believe a force must be able to run the platform with AI switched off entirely, must be able to choose where any AI processing happens, and must have a full record of every AI interaction. That's not a compliance add-on for us, it's the design constraint we start from. See Governed AI › for how that works in practice.

Legal identity
Trace Vantage is developed and supplied by Trace Intel LLC.
Practitioner background
The founding team's background is in law-enforcement digital forensics and open-source intelligence, which shapes how the platform is designed: for the workflow an investigator, analyst or disclosure officer actually runs, not a generic case-management template.
Leadership
The leadership team is named below, with full certifications and referenceable background provided directly to forces engaging in a briefing or procurement process.
What a procurement or assurance team can expect
We engage forces through a scoped procurement process. Ahead of and during that engagement, we provide the detail a procurement, legal or assurance team needs to evaluate us properly:
- Company registration, legal identity and ownership
- Insurance and professional liability cover
- Referenceable deployments and contactable references
- Technical and deployment-architecture documentation
- Security-assurance and independent testing evidence
- Data-protection material, including DPIA support
See Security & Assurance for how the platform is hardened, tested and evidenced.
The people behind the platform.
Trace Vantage is built by a team that has both run investigations and built businesses. Between them, the leadership brings decades on the front line of law enforcement together with the experience of building and scaling technology companies. Full named biographies and current certifications are provided during a briefing or procurement engagement.
More than fifty years on the front line.
Combined law-enforcement experience spanning detective-level investigation, digital forensics, task-force operations and operational leadership. The platform is shaped by people who have run the workflows it supports.
Leadership at chief and commissioner level.
Executive policing experience at the most senior level, bringing the strategy, governance and accountability perspective a force leadership team needs from an investigation platform.
More than thirty years building and scaling.
Combined experience founding, building and growing technology and services businesses, so Trace Vantage is delivered and supported as a product forces can rely on, not a one-off project.
We support the deployment. The force operates it.
Because the platform runs inside the force environment, our role after go-live is support, updates and optional assurance, not ongoing custody of the force's operational data. See the shared-responsibility model on Security & Assurance › for how that split works in practice.
